Under the general direction of the PRTF Director or designee and the Boys Town Special Education Director, will be responsible for providing of classroom curriculum to meet the individual needs of youth assigned. Oversees classroom and assigned staff to assure academic progress and behavioral remediation using the Psychoeducational Model of treatment. Provides initial and ongoing evaluation of each youth's academic needs and makes recommendations for future goals for youth assigned.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:
1) Bachelor's degree, preferably in education, special education endorsement, preferred, 2) must complete special education endorsement within first 5 years of employment, 3) valid Nebraska teacher certification, 4) good communication skills and ability to maintain appropriate level of confidentiality a must, 5) current CPR, specialized classroom management model and nationally recognized personal restraint model must be obtained during pre-service training, and 6) must have a current drivers license with good driving record.
