Denver Health is seeking a clinically skilled and experienced leader, educator, manager, and communicator for the position of Director of Service for Behavioral Health Services at Denver Health. The Director of Service (DOS) has oversight of all care delivered by the Department of Behavioral Health Services at Denver Health and will provide overall leadership. The DOS is responsible for strategic planning, clinical services, professional performance, business performance, relationships with key external partners, and medical education and scholarship for the department.

Denver Health is affiliated with the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and Denver Health faculty have full-time academic appointments at the School. The DOS has primary responsibility for all aspects of the scholarly and educational programs based at Denver Health and will foster collaboration, innovation and excellence in meeting our joint missions.
The Director of Service (DOS) for Behavioral Health Services will oversee care for an array of behavioral health services in the Denver Health system, listed below.
Addiction treatment services
Denver Health is a major teaching affiliate of the University of Colorado School of Medicine Psychiatry training program, including fellowships in Addiction, Forensic, and Child and Adolescent psychiatry, and Psychosomatic Medicine (Consult Liaison psychiatry). As such, the Denver Health DOS for Behavioral Health Services will be part of the executive leadership of the Department of Psychiatry at the School of Medicine. Other educational activities housed within Behavioral Health Services include a new Physician Assistant program in behavioral health (with the University of Colorado), a psychology internship (with the University of Denver), and an addiction counselor training program. The DOS of Behavioral Health Services will be a senior faculty member qualified to be appointed to the rank of Associate Professor or Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited school; Board Certification in Psychiatry and eligible for licensure in Colorado are required.

A strong record as a respected clinician
Demonstrated success within a Behavioral Health Services department. A track record of delivering strong results in mission-driven organizations, preferably those serving vulnerable and Medicaid populations.
Demonstrated ability to grow revenues, meet budgets, measure and improve outcomes and take appropriate business risks to achieve goals.
A history of academic commitment through excellence in education and/or scholarly work.
