Assistant Professor Faculty Position in Behavioral Neuroscience Department of Psychology University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
The Department of Psychology invites applications and nominations for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Behavioral Neuroscience at the rank of assistant professor. We welcome applicants with research interests in the neuroscience of learning and memory, and/or brain plasticity. The successful candidate will show productivity, the potential to attract outside funding, and a commitment to excellence in teaching. Successful candidates are expected to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, establish and maintain an active and independent research program, and provide service to the department, the university and the profession.
A PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience or a related field, as well as postdoctoral experience, is required. The anticipated starting date is August 16, 2019, and the starting salary is competitive. The University of Illinois at Champaign –Urbana has an interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program with faculty located in departments across campus. It has excellent facilities including the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology and the Carl R Woese Institute for Genomic Biology. Another available resource is the newly developed Center for Brain Plasticity.
