Lutheran Family & Children's Services of Missouri is seeking a compassionate and professional Therapist for the Columbia office. They will provide counseling, parenting education, case management and support through our Maternal Mental Health program for the Boone County area.
DUTIES Provide effective counseling/therapy and case management to eligible individuals who seek help for maternal mental health related concerns. Establish and maintain appropriate, current community networks and interactions, in cooperation with program supervisors and staff. Provide consultation and input to leadership for the program as requested.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Level II: Master’s degree or higher in a mental health related field with professional license from the State of Missouri (LPC or LCSW) plus three years of experience.
Level III: Master’s degree in a mental health related field with professional license from the State of Missouri (LCSW, LMFT or LPC) plus four years of experience.
Must be a licensed driver with access to a reliable automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements.

Knowledge of counseling theories and practice, therapeutic models and interventions. Knowledge of mental health assessment and interventions. Established social work and case management practices. Knowledge of ethical standards and legal regulations. Knowledge of managed care and insurance requirements. Knowledge of community resources. Effective professional therapeutic skills. Crisis intervention skills. Ability to function on a team. Communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain accurate client records. Computer programs and time management skills.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; climb up to 2 feet; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift up to 10 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to access, enter, modify, and retrieve data on a personal computer. The employee is also required to read, write, and speak the English language.
