Hillview Mental Health Center, Inc. located in the East San Fernando Valley currently has openings for behavioral health clinicians (licensed or waivered) in several of our outpatient programs. Clinicians serve a range of clients from first time recipients of mental health services with therapy focused treatment, in hopes of preventing or decreasing the need for long term mental health treatment to more intensive high needs clients with current/recent criminal justice involvement, homelessness, psychiatric holds, and substance use issues.
Duties for the position include:
Completing intake assessments
Providing crisis intervention when indicated
Providing individual therapy and group therapy services with focus on improving, maintaining and/or restoring client functioning
Providing targeted case management services
Work in collaboration with multi-disciplinary treatment team including psychiatrists, therapists, and care coordinators to assist clients in achieving the best possible clinical outcomes.
Documentation and charting
For intensive service program: Comfort in providing services in the community, attend court hearings, complete progress reports and work closely with probation and court staff.
Monday through Friday (40 hours)
9am to 5:30pm
Meal Period: 30 minutes
After hours on-call rotation

PhD/PsyD (licensed or waivered)
Desire to work with adults (aged 18 and older) with serious mental illness
Must show valid California driver’s license and current automobile insurance prior to start date
Must maintain a good driving record and provide verification of current automobile insurance on an annual basis.
Ability to pass thorough background check. Hillview will consider for employment all qualified applicants, include those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with applicable state and local laws, including City of Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance.
A doctorate in psychology.
Demonstrated experience working with adults in the mental health field.
Compassion for clients and dedicated to making a difference.
Comfort working with a diverse population, including clients with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Comfort working with clients referred from the criminal justice system.
Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment both in the office and in the community.
If position requires, comfort providing therapeutic interventions in the community (ex. client’s homes).
Must work well in a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to perform after hours on-call responsibilities.
Ability to maintain productivity and documentation standards.
Ability to manage time efficiently, organize and prioritize tasks, demonstrate sound judgment, give attention to detail, be flexible, self-driven and motivated.
Must have basic computer and typing skills.
If licensed, must be willing to obtain LPS designation
