Postdoctoral position in Neuroscience/Neuropathic pain
We are seeking to recruit a post-doctoral fellow who is an expert in systems neuroscience, electrophysiology and in vivo calcium imaging to study mechanisms of neuropathic pain. We have developed unique tools to monitor and modify cortical neuron activity in vivo and would like now to apply them to study abnormalities in cortical microcircuits with electrophysiological, molecular and imaging approaches. These approaches will be combined with behavioral assessment of pain like behaviors to understand the link between neuronal activity and pain development and maintenance.
For this position, we are seeking highly motivated individuals, with a proven track record of success, if possible immediately after their PhD, and in any case no more than four years after their PhD. The projects will be conducted in a stimulating and highly interdisciplinary environment at University of Maryland School of Dentistry and School of Medicine.
