Chapa-De has a full-time opportunity for a Behavioral Health Clinician at their clinic in Grass Valley, CA
JOB SUMMARY: Our Behavioral Health Clinician is responsible for providing evidenced based behavioral healthcare assessment and clinical services to patients at the Chapa-De Indian Health's clinics for a variety of emotional and behavioral problems. As part of an integrated behavioral health and primary care practice, s/he provides initial patient evaluations, triage assessments, crisis intervention management, brief individual and group counseling, skills training, care coordination, case management and follow-up referrals. S/he participates in interdisciplinary case conferences, works with primary care providers and assists with program development.
Education, Licensing and Experience Requirements:
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited institution with 1) a Master’s degree in Social Work or 2) a Doctoral degree in psychology
Current, valid and unsuspended license as a LCSW or Licensed Psychologist in the State of California
A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience providing behavioral health services in an integrated medical/behavioral setting
Current evidence based practices and techniques in psychotherapeutic treatment, including brief solution focused treatment.
Managing behavioral crises, conducting psychosocial assessments, developing care plans and providing brief therapeutic treatment.
Principles and practices of an integrated behavioral health and primary care service delivery model and specialty services in a community health center that serves a culturally and socially diverse, low-income population with complex substance use, mental health and co-occurring medical conditions.
Federal, State, County, IHS, HIPAA and professional guidelines, requirements, laws and regulations for ethics, privacy, confidentiality and scope of practice. This includes Mandated Reporting, Duty to Warn and Suicidal / Homicidal threat assessment.
Skills And Experience With:
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and providing consultations to medical providers
Effective oral and written communication
Efficient and effective use of the eCW EMR system
Exercising good judgment in clinical decision making and patient care
Use of a computer for word processing, data entry and e-mail
Bilingual in Spanish is highly desirable
