The Clinician will deliver psychotherapy to older adults in home and in community settings in Staten Island. The Clinician will work on building a collaboration with community partner agencies. This is a part time position with services being delivered in Staten Island.
The clinician provides Problem-Solving Therapy to older adult victims of abuse as part of an innovative program and in home psychotherapy to case management clients. Clinicians should be able to work part time in the community. In addition to direct services, clinicians participate in a weekly supervision and a weekly meeting. For elder abuse and/or homebound clients, 3 sessions per day are expected. All services and psychotherapy sessions are documented in an EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system.
Conducts a clinical diagnostic evaluation and develops diagnosis & plan with supervisor
Document all clinical contacts in EMR.
Certification training in Problem-Solving therapy (training & supervision provided).
Attend and participate in community meetings as needed
Track activities using computerized system
Minimum Requirements - Licensed in social work (LCSW, LMSW) or mental health counseling (LMHC). - One year post licensure
Highly Desired Requirements - Experience with community activities or outreach. - Prior experience working with an aging population is preferred. - Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Skills and Abilities - Ability to build supportive and respectful relationships with older adults. - Proven ability to work independently and as an effective and collaborative member of a team. - Possess an understanding of and practice cultural sensitivity through open dialogue and self-exploration with diverse groups, while providing direct services. - Excellent verbal and listening skills as well as time management skills.
