Position Summary: Yeshiva University (YU) invites nominations and applications for the position of Interim Dean of the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. Reporting to the Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean will assume leadership at a transitional time in the School's development.

For six decades, Ferkauf has provided the highest-quality graduate education to psychologists as clinical service providers, scholars and researchers, and educators. The School has the distinction of having three doctoral degree programs accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) and a Master's degree in mental health counseling
The Max and Celia Parnes Family Psychological and Psychoeducational Services Clinic is the training clinic of Yeshiva University's Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. For more than 45 years, it has provided low-cost, confidential, state-of-the-art mental health services for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.
The Ferkauf faculty have achieved national and international recognition in their fields as academic scholars, educators and clinical service providers. In classes and one-on-one consultations, students learn alongside faculty who are continually expanding their expertise through published writing and practice. Faculty advise, advocate, establish practices, receive federal grants for research and present papers at national and international conferences. More than 40 professors comprise the core faculty and numerous clinical and field supervisors support the faculty. More than 3,000 Ferkauf alumni have achieved successful careers as clinical service providers, researchers, scholars, educators, and administrators following graduation from the School.
Articulation of the next phase for Ferkauf:
Working with the Schools faculty, the Interim Dean will support and enhance current academic programs and research. The Dean will also continue to support the work of the Parnes Clinic, which has received significant funding for renovation of the facility from the city in recognition of the vital mental health counseling role that Parnes plays in the Bronx.
With a genuine interest in students, the Interim Dean will foster a student-friendly and service-oriented culture and will demonstrate a commitment to student success through mentorship, internship opportunities and career placement.
Leadership for Ferkauf within Yeshiva University:
At the nexus of the School and the University, the Interim Dean will both advocate for Ferkauf with the administration and represent the administration to the School. Demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and deans, the Dean will foster a holistic sense of the institution and an appreciation for the role that each constituency and individual plays.
Experience & Educational Background:
The successful candidate will possess an earned doctorate as well as a record of distinguished scholarship, academic leadership, and administrative experience. The Interim Dean should be licensed as a psychologist and have a firm grasp on the emerging challenges to psychology as a discipline that provides clinical, psychoeducational, and health services to diverse communities.
