Family Nurse Practitioner needed at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus – Inpatient Psychiatry in Fairfax, VA.
Inova Behavioral Health’s inpatient psychiatric units are located within three of Inova’s world-class medical campuses: Fairfax (Falls Church), Mount Vernon (Alexandria), and Loudoun (Leesburg).
Our inpatient units provide our clients with safety, structure, and stabilization provided by our experienced team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, counselors, and case managers. Therapeutic group activities, including creative art therapy, are held throughout the day. ECT (electroconvulsive therapy) treatments are provided on a case by case basis at the Inova Fairfax Hospital location.
The time requirement for this position is 80 hours every 2 weeks.
Experience: Progressive psychiatric nursing experience. 3 years of nursing or behavioral health experience Psychiatric Care NP experience.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an advanced practice degree. Bachelors in Nursing and either a Masters in Psychiatric Advanced Clinical Practice or a Masters in Family Practice with a post masters certificate for psychiatric nurse practitioners.
Training: Specific to assessment and care of psychiatric patients.
Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensing as a nurse practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia RN Compact License (depending on State of primary residence) and a license (or eligibility for) as a nurse practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia AND a "Prescriptive Authority for Licensed Nurse Practitioners Practice Agreement" signed by sponsoring/supervising physician(s), AND a written "Scope of Practice/Protocol" signed by the supervising physician, AND "Prescriptive Authority License" AND "Drug Enforcement Administration License" (if prescribing controlled substances).
