The Department of Psychiatry at Zucker Hillside Hospital(ZHH) is seeking an attending Psychiatrist for a unique resident-staffed psychiatry unit, serving a college student/early-onset Illness population. Exciting opportunity on inpatient psychiatry unit dedicated to college students and young adults, including ‘first episode’ patients. This unit serves as a primary setting for psychiatry resident and medical student training. Northwell’s Behavioral Health College Partnership (BHCP) is an inpatient/outpatient collaboration between The Zucker Hillside Hospital (of Long Island Jewish Medical Center) and 50+ regional colleges and universities. BHCP is anchored by this twenty-bed inpatient unit in Zucker Hillside’s new Behavioral Health Pavilion, an architecturally striking facility with design features that complement our state-of-the-art clinical care.
We are recruiting for an academically-oriented psychiatrist interested in the college-age spectrum, early-onset serious illness, and borderline personality disorder. Completion of a child/adolescent psychiatry fellowship preferred. Special interest in and aptitude for teaching and supervising junior psychiatry residents, medical and nursing students, and psychology externs, interns and post-docs is a prerequisite for this team leadership role in a highly innovative and desirable training milieu. Activities will also include helping to develop a novel program in tele-psychiatry to university Student Counseling Centers.
The Zucker Hillside Hospital-Long Island Jewish Medical Center is located approximately 15 miles from Manhattan and short distances from diverse Long Island-based recreational activities (e.g. beaches, biking, parks).
