Experienced, creative, and clinically sophisticated therapist needed to join the clinical team at a unique therapeutic boarding school for bright, college-bound adolescents in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts (see www.jda.org).
The ideal candidate:
Is comfortable handling a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues using an integrated and developmentally-informed framework
Enjoys working closely on a team within a small school setting
Will exhibit and model open-mindedness, optimism, and a warm yet firm approach with students
Must have knowledge of group process, adolescent growth and development, and crisis intervention
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Provide individual, group, and family therapy in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of John Dewey Academy
Work closely with clinical team to provide a nurturing and supportive therapeutic milieu
Manage 8-12 cases for a primarily adolescent male population
Communicate and collaborate with clinicians and faculty, family members, and external referral sources
Facilitate groups during Family Weekends (every 6-8 weeks)
Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
Licensed or license-eligible in the state of MA preferred.
Experience providing direct clinical care to children/adolescents in a mental health setting, preferably in a residential setting.
Training in evidence-based practices highly desirable.
