Juniata College’s Department of Psychology invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Psychology to start Fall 2020. Juniata is a highly ranked, national liberal arts college of 1,500 students located in the scenic Allegheny Mountains of central Pennsylvania. We seek a colleague with expertise in human neuroscience, which includes (but is not limited to) cognitive neuroscience, clinical neuroscience, and social neuroscience. This position requires the completion of a Ph.D. in Psychology or Neuroscience by August 2020.

The Juniata community is dedicated to providing an academically rigorous and personally enriching liberal arts education. The Juniata psychology program has an innovative curriculum, a strong tradition of undergraduate research, and a rich history of sending students on to graduate studies and productive careers. We seek a colleague who is committed to exemplary teaching and collaborative research within the context of a small liberal arts college. Our faculty teach 21 credits per academic year, which includes time for ongoing, collaborative research with undergraduate students through our Research in Psychology course. In addition, Juniata faculty are expected to provide ongoing student advising, as well as service to the department and the college. Start-up funds, lab space, and access to existing departmental resources (e.g., eye-tracking equipment and a 16-channel BioSemi ActiveTwo EEG system) are available to support this work.
Our new colleague will teach Introduction to Psychology, departmental courses in their area of expertise, and participate in our interdisciplinary neuroscience program.
Candidates with diverse scientific backgrounds that complement and enhance existing departmental strengths are particularly encouraged to apply. Individuals with post-doctoral research and teaching experience are preferred. Complete applications will include 1) a brief statement of teaching experience, philosophy, and interests; 2) a brief statement of research interests; 3) a curriculum vitae; 4) graduate academic transcripts; and 5) three letters of recommendation.
