The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience, is recruiting for a full-time psychologist (clinical-track) to provide outpatient services for our growing department at the Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor level. The Department is dedicated to excellence in patient care, high quality trainee education and is also committed to advancing the science of psychiatry and behavioral neurosciences through clinical trials and ongoing collaborative research. The rank of the appointment is open and will be commensurate with the experience and professional accomplishments of the selected applicant.
This faculty position will provide evidence-based mental health care to women seen in the psychiatric clinic at UC Health Women’s Center at West Chester Hospital (sister hospital to University of Cincinnati Hospital and affiliated with Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience). The UC Health Women’s Center is a premiere multidisciplinary center for women’s health which offers an innovative patient-centered, evidence-based and collaborative approach to primary and multispecialty care informed by a deep understanding of women’s unique health needs throughout their lifetime. Consistent with the mission of UC Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience, clinical services, research, education, and training are integral parts of this clinic.
Responsibilities will include direct patient care and may include teaching of psychology students and research/ academic work in the field of women’s mental health. The psychologist will offer evaluation and treatment of women seeking mental health care in the context of menstrual cycle-related issues, pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, perinatal loss, and menopause. The psychologist will assess and treat a variety of mental health diagnoses, including, but not limited to, mood and anxiety disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, sleep disturbances, sexual health, marital or relationship issues, problems secondary to breast/ gynecological cancers, etc., and will be expected to offer individual, couples and group therapy.
Signing bonus and relocation remuneration are negotiable.
Minimum Requirements: Doctorate, Licensed Psychologist in the State of Ohio. Degree must be in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (Doctorate of Psychology); experience must include three (3) years clinical/counseling. Interest and experience in women’s mental health preferred but not required.
