Art therapist will provide art therapy services/mental health counseling centered around the unique and individual needs of each patient according to their plan of care; meet the needs of all customers including patients, significant others, family members/guardians/parents, physicians, and other staff; work in multi-disciplinary teams in order to deliver a full range of services and participate in team based continuous improvement. Art therapist will be comfortable leading individual art therapy session, collaborating with other creative arts therapies (running joint sessions with other therapists) as well as leading groups - on own and with other creative mediums.
Art therapist will have a wide variety of unique needs on their caseload ranging in ages and populations. We are an agency that has 2 locations serving individuals and groups in our office location as well as going into the community to meet needs of the community. Expressive Therapies partners with other agencies in town to provide art and music therapy to a vast variety of individuals.
Duties: Art therapist/Counselor responsible for:
Implementing group and individual art therapy sessions.
Completing initial assessments as referred.
Creating appropriate individual and group sessions based on need(s) of clientele.
Co-facilitating groups with other disciplines.
Co-facilitating individual sessions with other disciplines.
Attending interdisciplinary team meetings as needed.
Referring to other disciplines as needed/not practicing out of scope.
Completing required documentation in timely manner.
Providing care that is age appropriate to clientele
Master’s Degree in Art Therapy and Counseling
Board-Certified Art Therapist / Registered Art Therapist
Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Continued education in specialized areas of work for professional growth and development
