Postdoc with a background in public health psychology or related area sought for an interdisciplinary research project studying the effects of stress and empathy on health behaviors. We are a team of computer scientists, psychologists and MDs using both individual and county-level data from twitter and Facebook to study what the words people use reveal about their well-being and their health behaviors. We have a strong team studying the language correlates of personality, subjective well-being, stress, empathy, depression, and other traits. (See wwbp.org)
As part of this work, we looking for someone to lead a project, centered in Penn's Positive Psychology Center, in which we are collecting data and building models to predict alcohol consumption patterns from the words people use.
